We hope that you and your child will enjoy your time with us in the Toddler room. Please remember we are here to help you in any way we can so please make regular contact with us. Remember that all children are different and deal with the childcare experience in their own way. The Kindy Room caters for children from the age of 3years to 4 years with 24 children cared for by two qualified staff.
Our program is based on the Early Years Learning Framework and reflects the individual needs of each child. We aim to ensure that children have lots of fun and feel secure and nurtured in a caring environment. We like to encourage the children to develop their self help skills, their self confidence and their independence.
Activities are programmed from individual observations and interests of each child and are incorporated into the program so all children can participate in the activities. Our goal is to keep the children learning through play and to develop their skills in a fun and positive way.

We greatly encourage parents to come in and spend some time with us and to see how much fun we have.

Welcome to the preschool Room at The Brighton Childcare and Preschool centre.
The staff are dedicated and experienced in providing the kind of caring attention and learning environment which your child needs to develop socially, physically and cognitively. We look forward to challenging your child and creating a warm, happy, fun environment as a prelude to entering prep and formal education.
It is our aim to implement activities by observing children’s play, setting myself goals, evaluateing children’s experiences and encourageing children to make their own play choices.
At Brighton we implement a program called ‘Letterland’. Letterland combines phonics teaching with storytelling, provides the perfect way to teach letter shape, sound recognition and to establish correct letter formation. While at the same time engendering a delight in language and learning. We initiate this program after Easter, after we have established friendships, routines and bonds with the children. Children love the stories and soon grow to love the characters and have their favourites. They find it easy to remember. For example, that Harry Hat Man hates noise because it gives him a horrible headache, so when he’s in a word he never speaks above a whisper, He just says, ‘hhh”.
