Welcome to The Brighton Childcare and Preschool Centre.

Our centre provides a warm, safe and happy environment for children aged 15 months to school age. Children have plentiful opportunities throughout the day to be involved in stimulating and appropriate learning experiences. It is our desire that you and your child experience the happiness and enjoyment we will provide throught the year.

The Brighton Childcare and Pre-School Centre Pty Ltd is a privately owned centre that is proudly independently operated. Our mission is to provide the best childcare services that are available. Our vision is to operate a business that is successful, sustainable and ethical that encourages and facilitates high quality growth and development of the children that we care for and our staff the care for them. The centre is managed to achieve two primary outcomes. Firstly, to be a successful business so that we are able to achieve our mission of providing the best care possible. Secondly, by encouraging our staff to continue their own learning and development to bring out their best qualities, acknowledging their efforts and successes we are able to provide an extremely stable environment, high quality education and enrichment as well as genuine care for the children.

We have extensive experience in Childcare, Water Filtration, Construction, Fitness, Education, Advertising and Commercial Real Estate. It would be easy for us to manage the Centre to achieve maximum profit by cutting costs but we do not believe that to be in the best interest of the children in the long run and therefore would be in conflict with our Mission and Vision. All of our decisions are fundamentally based around what is in the best interests of the children we care for. This includes the types of staff we employ, the efforts we make to keep our amazing staff, the amount and types of resources that we provide, the professional development we provide for staff and the events we organise for the children. We actively encourage staff and families to suggest improvements because we believe that sometimes it is the small things that can make the biggest difference.

We are proud of the fact that most of our staff have been working for us for many years, our staff are happy and that children come back to visit our staff several years after graduating from our centre. We hope that you find The Brighton Childcare and Pre-School Centre to be as special as we strive to make it. By providing individual, unique programs for the children to develop naturally to their

maximum ability and potential.

Allowing the children to learn at their own pace

Through observations, evaluations and planning children will develop and progress at

a level that will increase their self confidence.

Play is learning

We hope to develop a love for learning in the children, one which will continue to

grow with them for a lifetime.

The environment

We have clear consistent boundaries for the children to feel secure, and confident

allowing them to enrich their self-esteem and self confidence by believing in

themselves and their abilities.

Providing choice for children

Encouraging freedom, self-responsibilty and self-expression, by providing choices

allowing them to explore and discover.

Communication is invaluable

Parents participation within a childs early learning years benefits everyone, the

child, the parent and us as a centre. We ensure the parents are aware that we are

available at all times to discuss any issues or concerns that they or the children

might have.

Little by little

Any large scale accomplishment is achieved only when tackled little by little. We are

patient and tackle only one thing at a time. Then we watch the big picture unfold...

My name is Sonia Smith and I have been at Brighton Childcare and Preschool centre for 3 years in the role of Director.

I have a Diploma of teaching in Early Childhood and have just completed my final subjects in my Bachelor of Education.

I have the best job in the centre as I get to go to each room getting to know all the children and their families. I want every family to feel special and welcomed as they enter the centre. I have a very hands on approach to directing and you will often find me out in one of the rooms with shaving cream or singing a song. My door is always open and everyone is welcome to come in for a chat.

When I’m not at work you will find me in my craft room with my daughter getting messy or beside the football field cheering my son on.
